In December 2017 the industrial confidence indicator (ICI) declined by 2.1 pts to 0.7 pts. It is 10.0 pts up from the respective last year figure.
The goal of the ERFIN Workshop, which took place on September 15th, was to promote modern quantitative methods and their applications in the field of finance. We believe that the workshop provided an excellent avenue to obtain quality feedback, and it was an opportunity for networking among researchers and academics.
In the beginning of 2017 the Polish economy slightly increased. The IRG SGH barometer (BARIRG) amounted to -7.1 pts. It is 1.6 pts up from the October, 2016 figure, and higher than one year earlier by 3.3 pts.
Professor Elżbieta Adamowicz, Director of the Research Institute for Economic Development in the Collegium of Economic Analysis, has been elected for another four-year term of CIRET Council.
Professor Leszek Balcerowicz – the Head of the Department of International Comparative Studies – has been appointed by the President of Ukraine Petro Poroszenko as his representative in the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine. The professor has become a member of a special government-presidential group of strategic advisors created to support reforms in Ukraine.
