February 22–24, 2011Kick-off meeting in Warsaw All members of the Italian and Polish teams met in Warsaw to officially launch the FamChIP project. We summarized our knowledge about demographic changes in both countries and discussed the agenda of the project.
July 2–9, 2012Research visit Anna Matysiak spent a week at the University of Florence working with Daniele Vignoli on women’s employment and fertility behaviors in Italy and Poland. You can learn about their results from this publication.
January 29 – February 5, 2012Research visit Daniele Vignoli spent a week at the Warsaw School of Economics working with Anna Matysiak and Tymon Słoczyński. They focused on the effect of women’s wages on fertility in Italy and Poland.
May 3–5, 2012Population Association of America 2012 Annual Meeting, San Francisco Anna Baranowska-Rataj and Elena Pirani presented their results on the relationship with parents among young people choosing cohabitation as the living arrangement in Italy and Poland. June 13, 2012FamChIP Side-Meeting at the EPC in StockholmThe team members organized the side-meeting at the European Population Conference in Stockholm. We presented our research to the colleagues from Italy, Poland and other European countries.
June 13–16, 2012European Population Conference, StockholmThe European Population Conference gave us an opportunity to present out research to a wider audience, too. At the conference, we gave two talks and presented one poster.
June 25–29, 2012Research visit Anna Rybińska spent a week at the Univeristy of Florence working with Valentina Tocchioni and Daniele Vignoli. They explored the women’s paths into childlessness using the sequence analysis.
November 23–30, 2012Research visit Daniele Vignoli visited Warsaw School of Economics to investigate the interrelations between women's employment and divorce risks in Italy and Poland. He worked together with Anna Matysiak and Marta Styrc.
January 17-18, 2013Workshop "Focus on Partnership Formation", SouthamptonAnna Baranowska, Monika Mynarska and Daniele Vignoli participated in the workshop organized by Brienna Perelli-Harris. At this workshop they had an opportunity to present and discuss their work on the role of religiosity for a choice between cohabitation and marriage.
January 28 – February 2, 2013Research visit Daniele Vignoli visited Warsaw School of Economics to continue his work with Anna Matysiak and Marta Styrc. They worked on the topic of interrelations between women's employment and divorce risks in Italy and Poland.
February 2013FamChIP paper accepted for publication!The paper “Diverse effects of women’s employment on fertility: insights from Italy and Poland” by Anna Matysiak and Daniele Vignoli was accepted for publication in European Journal of Population. Check our "Publications" section for more details.
February 6-8, 2013Population Days in Brixen (Italy)Giornate di Studio sulla Popolazione, GSP 2013The 10th edition of Population Days gave us an opportunity to disseminate our work further. April 11-13, 2013Population Association of America 2013 Annual Meeting, New OrleansThe results of the FamChIP project were shared with the international research community in New Orleans. The team members of our project presented two papers and one poster! This was a very productive PAA Meeting for FamChIP. Check out our "Presentations" section to see our presentations in NOLA.
June 14–15, 2013Project meeting in Warsaw All members of the Italian and Polish teams are meeting in Warsaw once again. We shared our results and summarized the findings. Work for the remaining months of the project were planned.
