INNOVATIVENESS AND INTERNATIONAL ECONOMIC COMPETITIVENESS
NEW CHALLENGES FACING ENTERPRISES AND THE STATE
 

 goals of the conference

 
  • Exchange of research results, opinions and experience on general issues of fostering processes of innovativeness and international competitiveness pending in enterprises and economies (national, regional) under contemporary technological, economical and institutional conditions in the world economy.
  • Investigation of changes emerging in innovation activity of enterprises and national economies as well as in formation of strategy-oriented approach of the State adopted for stimulating innovativeness and international competitiveness of national economy in various countries, with some reference to Germany and Poland.
  • Discussion over the mentioned topics to be conducted by representatives of various communities – academic and business (foreign and domestic ones), different generations – experienced researchers and students as well as persons of different background – economic, cultural, institutional, etc.
  • Mutual inspirations and shared creation of new concepts and methods of State’s involvement in forming innovation strategy and policy (and its particular instruments) to be conducted under fierce competition on the global market.

  • Differences in innovativeness and international competitivneness of various national economies, with the focus on Poland - and Germany
  • Conditions, factors and mechanisms of innovation processes, and development of national innovation systems (NISs)

  • International flows and linkages, and impacts on enhancement of innovativeness
  • Support of national innovativeness by international organizations and institutions

II.    Interactions of innovativeness and international competitiveness in enterprises and particular economies
  • Innovation activity and competitiveness of enterprises: processes, models, networks
  • Creation, implementation and transfer of knowledge, technology and innovation in enterprises, and their impacts on firms’ international competitiveness
  • Diversity of conducting innovation processes in particular groups of enterprises
  • R&D activity of enterprises and its internationalization
  • R&D cooperation of enterprises and universities and/or research centers
  • Open innovation and other models of the activity, cooperation, cross-border innovation networks and linkages
  • Case studies of innovation activity led by transnational corporations (TNCs) and diffusion of their innovations in a host economy
  • Case studies of innovation activity led by Polish enterprises – successes and barriers in a creative destruction process

  • Diversity and evolution of innovation policy conducted in particular countries: strategies, instruments, institutions and effects of State’s involvement
  • Innovation policy of the European Union: methods, programs, instruments
  • Innovation policy in Poland’s economy: new solutions to face global competition
  • Innovation policy towards particular industries of manufacturing and services

Reviewed papers will be published in Journals edited by the Collegium of Socio-Economics of the Warsaw School of Economics
Editorial requirements:
20 to 40 thousands editorial marks (including spaces).
Submitted papers should be prepared in accordance with the editorial requirements of the Oficyna Wydawnicza SGH

The fee includes participation in the conference and a festive dinner, cost of publication of the submitted paper, one copy of the publication. 

Fee depending on the date of payment is:
400 PLN (95 EUR) – in case of payment before 31.08.2016
500 PLN (115 EUR) - in case of payment before 30.09.2016
200 PLN (46 EUR) – only conference participation without publication of the paper; discounted fee for doctorate applicants
No fee for applicants from the Warsaw School of Economics
